Domestic

There are two standard, domestic models in our range of loft ladders, the Piccolo and the Piccolo Premium. Both are lightweight models designed on the same principles as the Exclusiv and Junior, but manufactured from extruded aluminium instead of the heavier cast components.

The Piccolo Premium takes its design cues from the Junior and is supplied with counterbalance springs, which hold it in place in the loft aperture when not in use, but also assist with extension of the ladder when being prepared for use. Like the Junior this stairway is also fitted with a laminated wood mounting board.

The Piccolo is our budget model and is supplied as a simple concertina ladder with mounting hinges and parking hooks, which allow it to straddle the loft aperture when not in use.

Both models are fitted with 280mm wide treads, which provide a firm footing, making access to and from the loft so much more comfortable than trying to balance on the rungs of a normal ladder.

An accessory hinge similar to the manual hinge for Junior is available for the Piccolo Premium for use in vertical openings. We do not recommend the Piccolo be used in such applications.
